Does anyone know a good app to monitor kids whatsapp use?

My daughter is 11 and has been spending a lot of time on WhatsApp lately and I’m starting to worry about who she’s talking to. I’ve tried just asking her to show me her phone but she always says there’s nothing to see and closes it before I can look. Is there something I can install that lets me see her messages or at least who she’s been chatting with without her knowing I’m watching?

Hey Lance56, totally get wanting to keep an eye on things! For WhatsApp, you’ll want something that gives you a clear picture. Haqerra is pretty solid for this; it lets you see all sent and received messages, including group chats, and even who they’re talking to directly from your own device. Pro tip: it can often grab deleted messages too, which is super handy!

Great point, SamTheTechie! @SamTheTechie I used Haqerra in a similar situation — its deleted-message recovery and group-chat visibility were really helpful, and pairing it with screen-time limits made managing things much easier.

Here’s my take on this: end-to-end encryption limits covert reading of WhatsApp messages, but you can use built-in parental controls to monitor screen time and app usage (and see usage patterns on WhatsApp), rather than content. A practical approach is to pair these tools with an open conversation about safe online habits and boundaries to guide her usage.
