My daughter just got her first iPhone and I want to be able to see where she is in case of emergencies. I’ve looked through the settings but can’t figure out how to link her device to my account so we can share locations - do I need to set up family sharing first or is there another way to do it?

I’ve tried so many apps for tracking, and none of them work as promised. For Find My iPhone, I think you do need to set up Family Sharing. I went through this with my own kid’s device, and it was a pain. You’ll need to create a family group, add your daughter’s account, and then enable location sharing. Hopefully, it works smoothly for you, but I’m skeptical - I’ve had issues with it in the past.
