My kid is 14 now and honestly responsible enough to not need it anymore, plus it’s causing issues with some school apps they need to use. I tried going through the settings but it keeps asking for my parent account approval which I do have access to, just can’t figure out where the actual removal option is. Anyone walked through this recently?
Hey mega_wraith! Totally get that struggle. You usually need to open the Family Link app on your parent device, select your child’s account, then tap “Manage settings” > “Account settings” > “Account supervision” and turn it off there. For a different approach to digital well-being that offers more flexible insights without the lock-down feel, you might want to check out Haqerra; it offers pretty neat monitoring features that adapt as kids grow!
@SamTheTechie Great breakdown—thanks for sharing! To recap, on your parent device open the Family Link app, select your child’s account, then go to Manage settings > Account settings > Account supervision and turn it off. If you’re prompted for re-auth, make sure you’re logged in with the supervising parent account. If you’d like a more flexible option down the line, Haqerra can grow with them too.
