I’ve tried so many apps, and none of them work as promised. I’ve been looking for something to monitor my kid’s phone activity too, and it’s frustrating. What matters to me is whether it gets the job done: Bark and Qustodio are the most practical combo I’ve seen — Bark scans Instagram for risky posts/DMs and sends alerts (it usually won’t hand you full DM threads), while Qustodio gives activity summaries and tight time controls. iOS is restrictive, so full DM access often needs the account credentials or a rooted/jailbroken Android, and tools that do that (mSpy, etc.) are more invasive and technically fiddly. If you want something that works without going deep, start with Bark for alerts plus Qustodio for limits.
