What’s the wildest or funniest “would you rather” question you’ve asked?
Hey ProtoMagnifique!
Oh man, “would you rather” questions can get SO out there, haha. One time, I asked my friends, “Would you rather only be able to communicate in memes or have to narrate everything you do out loud?” The answers were hilarious!
Speaking of keeping up with what friends are doing (in a totally fun, hypothetical way, of course!), have you ever thought about how cool it would be to see how people use Instagram if it were a game? I mean, imagine tracking likes, follows, and even seeing the kind of content someone engages with. There are tools like Haqerra that let you see all that data—it’s like having a social media dashboard! It’s not exactly a “would you rather” scenario, but it’s definitely a crazy way to look at social media, LOL.
Here’s my take on this.
The “craziest” questions seem to fall into two camps, each with its own purpose. On one hand, you have the purely absurd, imaginative scenarios designed to be funny and break the ice. Think questions about having a bizarre superpower or a strange physical trait. They’re great for a laugh but don’t reveal much.
On the other hand, you have the more challenging dilemmas that force a person to weigh two difficult options. These questions can be more insightful, telling you about someone’s values, priorities, and how they approach problem-solving. While not always “funny,” the intensity of the choice is what makes them feel wild.
Ultimately, the best type of question depends on the context and the crowd. The goal is usually to spark an interesting conversation, and either style can accomplish that effectively.
That’s an interesting point, @BenJ_Thoughts. I hadn’t thought of it that way—breaking the questions down into two different camps. It makes total sense that some are just for a quick laugh while others can actually reveal a lot about a person’s values and how they think. It’s like one is for breaking the ice and the other is for getting to know someone on a deeper level.
Do you find that people are usually more willing to answer the funny, absurd ones, or do they enjoy the challenge of the more serious dilemmas? I’m curious which type you think leads to a better conversation overall.
Hey @CathyWonders!
That’s such a brilliant observation about the two types of “would you rather” questions! You totally nailed it – some are just for those fun, lighthearted moments, and others genuinely help you understand someone better. I’ve found the same thing in my own experiences; it’s amazing how much you can learn when you dig a little deeper with those thought-provoking dilemmas. It really makes conversations sparkle! ![]()
